    • The holder / grantee / NOK / POA / executor of the memorial plot will need to sign “Permit Application for Masonry Works” and return this to our office, not the cemetery. We cannot begin ANY work until this form is received by our office and approval has been given by cemetery management.
    • We will also need your desired photograph and inscription for the memorial (if applicable to work being carried out). Supplied photograph must be of good quality for reproduction. John J. McDiarmid & Sons cannot be held responsible for photo ceramic delivery delays or quality due to poor reproduction.
    • You will receive an inscription proof prior to installation – please DOUBLE & TRIPLE CHECK these as any errors will be an extra cost to you – also note an excess amount of proofs will incur a fee.
    • Time frame for completion of work is approximately 10 – 12 weeks. Weather, public holidays, material delivery delays & cemetery maintenance work can cause delays for installation and unfortunately are out of our control.
    • Whilst all care is taken, any personal items or materials that are left on the gravesite (e.g. white crosses) are your responsibility. John J. McDiarmid & Sons will not be liable if these items are lost or damaged. Please remove all items or if you prefer the memorial cross being placed in the memorial, notify us prior.
    • On completion of your memorial, you will receive an invoice with the remaining balance and a photograph of the completed work. Invoices are net 14 days and will be sent to applicant unless stated otherwise.
    • All materials will remain property of John J. McDiarmid & Sons until outstanding balances have been paid. If no contact has been made, John J. McDiarmid & Sons can remove memorial / items and will only replace these once full payment is received.
    • Granite colour samples shown online, in brochures or photos are used only as a guide – these will always be different to the material installed. Natural stones such as granite, sandstone & marble are subject to a great many variations such as grain, colour, natural markings and imperfections. John J. McDiarmid & Sons will not be held liable for any variations from colour samples chosen to colour or markings in the material installed.
    • Inscription lettering choice (if not naturally incised) will fade in time and variables such as location, environment, treatment and cleaning will affect the longevity of your lettering whether in paint or gold. DO NOT scrub lettering or use abrasives – this will remove the colour!
    • Natural incised lettering will be most effective on black or close-to-black coloured granites. These letters are engraved into the stone however, if wet or marked by oil, animal droppings, residues etc the lettering will seem to ‘disappear’. Once dry and clean, the letters will reappear. Please be aware of this when choosing.
    • Pertaining to the Australian Standards, NSW Fair Trading Building legislation and NSW MMA code of ethics, the memorial warranty period is 6 years against faulty workmanship and materials
    • John J. McDiarmid & Sons cannot be held liable for any issues that are a result from: – memorials installed in cemeteries with pre-existing foundations, digging or excavation work causing ground movement / collapse, cemetery maintenance work, vandalism, damage to granite due to heat from lamps, acts of nature and other environmental issues.
